Let me bring you up to speed on my life...

So, in June of 2007 I took an internship with a company 3 hours from where I lived.

I've owned my own home since my Sophomore year in college and since it was only a three month internship, I decided to keep my house and get a short term lease on an apartment in the new town. Just so happens rent is ridiculous in said new town and to top it off there isn't many options. I wound up with a 400sq.ft. efficiency for $730/mo.; my three bedroom house payment 3 hours away was only $684(which I was still paying as well!)!

Well, when the three months were up I was extended a job offer to stay on and keep working for the company. Now the hard part, sell a house that I haven't lived in for three months while living three hours away. This was necessary before I could move out of the apartment and buy a home in my new city.

I wound up staying for an extra 3 months in the efficiency apartment. My fiancee had come to live with me at the end of August and brought our Boston Terrier, General Lee, so it was getting cramped!

On November 26 we closed on a home. A gorgeous home! Full of character and charm, original hardwoods throughout, beautiful moldings, and a large backyard for General Lee. We could't have found a more perfect home.

On December 5 our basement started leaking. Tremendously! We would spend countless hours removing water from the basement with a shop vac. We would spend even more countless hours removing water from the sunken windows at ground level, most of the time in the pouring rain. Most of the time below 50 F.

Come April I'd had enough. I called my realtor and said, "Get me outta here!" Our house sold after three weeks, a new roof, and the threat of a law suit. We were all set to move into a new home (sans basement!).

On June 7, 2008, Josh and I tied the knot! We had been dating since 2002 so instead of "Congratulations!", we received "It's about time!"

On June 16, we moved into our 2nd home in our new town. Built in 1965 and I swear it hasn't been updated since construction.

I've now lived here for 1 year 5 days and in three different dwellings! And have gotten married in the mean time. And have obtained a new puppy, Bella Bella Baci!

So now the real fun begins. I personally am in charge of updating a 54 year old home. 90% with my own two hands. You see, hubby is completely incapable of painting, is afraid of heights, electricity, and basically, work that deals with renovating a home.

Its awful convenient if you ask me.
