So Halloween is this weekend and the hubby and I are going to a friends costume party/cookout.
Luckily for me, I picked up a little bit of sewing a while back and was able to construct parts of my costume for MUCH less than I would have had to pay in store. And hubbys accessories I borrowed from my work.
I will be gracing the party as the H1N1 virus, A.K.A. "Swine 'Flew'". I've got a baby pink velour track suit from Old Navy that I will be wearing with some pink house slippers and a set of angel wings (to represent the 'flew', get it?). My sewing skills came in hand with making a piggy tail, piggy ears, and a piggy nose out of shades of pink fleece, which I glued on to a surgical mask for a slightly greater flu effect. The nostrils for the piggy nose were made from black duct tape, very simple!
DH will be going as, okay, to not be grossed out you will have to understand DH. He has a huge sense of humor and a strong affinity for telling jokes that get (somewhat mixed) reactions. Thus his costume, DH will be going as................a proctologist.
I work in a chemical laboratory from which I borrowed a white lab coat and a pair of blue nitril gloves. We also went to Wal-Mart and bought some name tags. The rest of his costume will consist of an old pair of docker slacks, a button up shirt, and an old brown pair of tennis shoes.
Next, I went to Hobby Lobby and bought a single brown Sharpie. The tip of a finger (or two, for effect) will be colored brown.
His name tag will read the classic, "Ben Dover".
Perhaps I will post some photos after the party. HaPPy HaLLoWeeN, Y'ALL!!
